General Position Description
The Fitness Manager has overall responsibility for promoting, selling, implementing and practicing the programs, policies, and procedures pertaining to the Personal Training Department.

Duties

  • The Fitness Manager is responsible for all revenue producing fitness programs and personal training department in regards to new sales, renewals, expenses, payroll and new business generation
  • Acts as the point contact person for members regarding personal training matters and fitness appointments
  • Responsible for contacting all new members within 1 day of his/her join date to ensure a new member orientation was booked or to schedule orientation if not booked
  • Responsible for meeting monthly New Sales Goals and Total Revenue Goals
  • Present a healthy lifestyle and fitness professionalism at all times
  • Have a thorough understanding of overall club systems and operations and enforce procedures and policies
  • Performs fitness assessments in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Trains, schedules, and oversees the personal training staff
  • Assumes responsibility to be working the AGM/Co-FM schedule. Schedule may vary based on business needs
  • Participates in all meetings and trainings that require the presence of an AGM/Co-FM, deemed by the General Manager.
  • Must track and hold personal trainers responsible for monthly goals, attendance, education and training.
  • Any other tasks assigned by General Manager or Regional Fitness Manager
  • Shows up to work on time and in uniform

Required Skills:
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Working knowledge of basic computer skills
Ability to lift 45 lbs. Correctly, safely, and repeatedly

Prerequisites for this position:
A current certification that is nationally recognized in the “Personal Trainer” or “Fitness Trainer” or “Nutrition” category
At least one year of personal training experience
At least one year of personal training sales experience
Must work 40+ hours per week according to business needs
Completed and current CPR/AED/First Aid certification
Must read and understand Personal Trainer Compensation Plan and Job Description
Must present personal resume
Must understand all basic biological systems of the human body

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year

High school or equivalent (Preferred)

License/Certification:
Certified Personal Trainer Certification (Required) or fitness related degree (example: Exercise Science, Kinesiology)
